Key Milestones and Achievements Over The Years

First and Second Decades (1967 – 1986)

a) JOGINSA was founded in 1967 and became a boarding school in 1969.
b) An examination centre status was attained in 1970.
c) JOGINSA was ranked the best private school in 1970 when her first candidates sat for the East African Certificate of Education (EACE).
d) Construction of the school kitchen was done in 1973.
e) Purchase of the first school van in 1974.

Third Decade (1987 – 1996)

a) The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Advanced Level was started in 1994.
b) Major infrastructural developments were made – Building the Staff Quarters, Sr. Catherine Agnes Classroom Block.
c) Big strides were made in the academics of the School.

Fourth Decade (1997 – 2006)

a) Meritorious achievements were made, e.g. in the UACE cohort of 2003 – 2004, Murielle Magayane was the best performer in Uganda; in 2006 JOGINSA produced the best female UCE performer in Kampala District, Joanita Nampijja with 9 aggregates (see Academic Performace) page.
b) Sr. Mary Bernadine Dormitory Block was constructed.
c) Construction of Mother Kevin Laboratory Block was done.

Fifth Decade To-date (2007 - 2019)

a) JOGINSA was ranked the 10th best O-level performing school in Uganda in the decade 2006 – 2016 Mother Kevin Laboratory Block with an average of 87.9% of her candidates passing in First Division.
b) Sr. Mary Chrysostom Classroom Block was constructed.
c) Mother Kevin Laboratory Block was officially opened in 2007.
d) 2015 Sr. Agatha Mary Administration Block was opened with a new students’ library and ICT laboratory.
e) JOGINSA turned 50 and the Golden Jubilee was celebrated in 2017.
f) UACE average grade points in national examinations in the last five years (2015 – 2019) is 11.50 points and the UCE average aggregate in the same period is 24.85.
g) Some JOGINSA OGs have put up an exceptional performance in the area of entrepreneurial production in the projects at the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) / Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).
